Frequently Asked Questions

About Working with a Celebrant

What exactly is a funeral celebrant?

A funeral celebrant is someone who creates and delivers personalised ceremonies that celebrate a person's life. Unlike religious officiants, celebrants aren't tied to any specific faith tradition—we can create ceremonies that are religious, spiritual, secular, or anything in between. The focus is always on honouring the person who has died in a way that reflects who they were and what their family wants.

About the Ceremony

Can we have a non-religious ceremony?

Absolutely. Many of the ceremonies I create are completely non-religious. We focus on celebrating your loved one's life, values and relationships without any religious content.

About the Process

How soon do we need to book you?

As soon as you know you'd like to work with me. Funerals are often arranged within 1-2 weeks, and the sooner we can talk, the more time we have to create something meaningful together.

About the Day Itself

What should we expect on the day?

I'll arrive early to check in with the funeral director and venue staff. I'll make sure everything is ready—music cued, readings prepared, anything visual set up correctly. When the ceremony begins, I'll deliver it with warmth and professionalism. You can trust that everything is taken care of.
